FAQs

IV therapy is a ground breaking intellectual method where a medical professional will administer fluids, vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly into the bloodstream. By going directly into the bloodstream, your body can absorb 90-100% of the bioavailable nutrients.

“When high dose vitamins are infused intravenously, the cells are exposed to super high plasma levels of the vitamins. This creates a osmotic gradient that helps push the micronutrients into the cells. It is here that he nutrients of the vitamins do their most important work. The vitamins have a restorative impact at a cellular level that last can as long as the cells live. Cells have a lifespan, ranging tom several days in case of those lining the GI tract, to several months or even years for the cells in other parts of the body. It is for this reason that the intermittent infusions of high-dose water-soluble vitamins have a durable effect, “ Dr Stephe Petteruti

This intellectual therapy is helping heal thousands on a cellular level around the globe as it finally gives you the power of choice to taking charge of your health.

To say it bluntly, we all need a drip as we all need support on a cellular level to help to fight illness, prevent dis-ease and avoid the consequences of chronic degenerative conditions.

We solely focus on choice and prevention where as modern medicine focuses on the intervene in the face of disease/illness. “Your body is in a constant state of renewal and repair. Cellular vitality is essential for the body to successfully renew itself. IV infusions represent a fundamental advance in supplying ingredients to support cell life.” Dr. Stephen Petterutti

“Outside of the obvious benefits of getting essential nutrients, there are many reasons why IV therapy is becoming so popular. While taking oral supplements is a popular way of addressing specific vitamin and nutrition needs, it certainly has its limitations. Unlike other methods of ingesting necessary supplements, IV infusion cuts digestion out of the equation — delivering vital nutrients directly into the bloodstream for more effective absorption and healing on a cellular level. Another benefit of intravenous therapy includes being able to create tailored IV drips for your specific needs, rather than having to take multiple oral supplements daily.” IV League Drips

“The use of prescription drugs and antibiotics can further compromise oral absorption. Many drugs interfere with the digestive process, making it harder for the body to break down and absorb micronutrients… these can later the bacterial health of the GI tract.” Dr Stephen Petteruti

“… Western culture has developed chronic malabsorption syndromes because of highly processed, inflammatory foods. Symptoms such as bloating, heartburn, and irregular bowl movements can be all signs of underlying malabsorption and micronutrient defiance, which leads to the production of unhealthy cells that perpetuates the malabsorption” Dr Stephen Petteritti

All of our vitamins are TGA-approved and go through high levels of testing before they’re made available to our clients. All Vitamin IV drips are administered by a registered nurse. Before any client receives IV therapy, we evaluate their health history. If you have any known allergies these will be discussed before administration.

Please listen to the after care instructions given to you by your nurse to avoid any chance of site infection or further complications. However, true allergic reactions are extremely rare but our nurses are educated and equipped to take care of you. Please report to the Emergency Room if you experience any sort of dangerously low blood pressure, adverse reaction or anaphylaxis.Localised blood clots are a very rare risk of getting a drip. Superficial thrombophlebitis can occur in a vein after an IV has been inserted, This can cause pain and swelling at the site that will resolved on it’s own. This type of clot does not represent a threat to life since it cannot travel to a vital organ.

Another potential consequence is a “vasovagal syncope”. This refers to an individual who will sometimes pass out when a IV is administrated. In some cases people do already know they are prone to this. If you inform your nurse that you are prone towards this event precautions can be taken to make it less likely. Even if it does occur, it is temporary with no residual effect ad will resolve in matter of minutes.” Dr Stephen Petteruti

Pregnancy, breast feeding, heart disease, liver or renal conditions will require further practitioner consultations which can be provided by IV League and your doctor.

A typical process for a vitamin infusion at Gl Vitality Drips involves the following steps:

  1. Consultation: You will have an initial consultation with your nurse to discuss your health goals, concerns, and determine if vitamin infusion is suitable for you. The nurse will review your medical history, allergies, and any pre-existing conditions to ensure the treatment is safe and tailored to your needs.
  2. Treatment Plan: Based on your consultation, a personalized treatment plan will be created. The plan may include specific vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to address your individual requirements and health concerns.
  3. Preparation: On the day of your vitamin infusion, a healthcare professional will prepare the IV drip solution, which contains the selected vitamins and minerals in appropriate concentrations. The solution may also include electrolytes or other additives as needed.
  4. Administration: Your nurse will insert a small needle into a vein, usually in your arm, to administer the vitamin infusion. The process is typically painless, and you may feel a slight pinch or discomfort during the insertion. The IV drip is connected to the cannula, and the solution will flow slowly into your bloodstream.
  5. Monitoring: While the vitamin infusion is in progress, the healthcare professional will monitor your blood pressure. They will also observe for any immediate adverse reactions or side effects.
  6. Duration: The duration of the infusion can vary depending on the specific treatment plan and the desired effects. Infusion times may range from 30 minutes to a few hours. During the treatment, you can relax in a comfortable environment, read, listen to music, or engage in other activities.
  7. Completion and Follow-up: Once the infusion is complete, the nurse will remove the IV cannula and monitor you for a short period to ensure there are no immediate complications. They will also provide instructions for post-treatment care and any necessary follow-up appointments. This will be sent automatically to your email via Vita after your appointment.

Sit back, relax & drip away we say…

Depending on what your health goals are and reason for investing in a vitamin infusion, we recommend getting a drip at least once a month for general maintenance.

However, depending on your treatment plan, you might require a drip much more often than this. Our medical experts can help guide you to reach your health goals but most importantly, listen to your body and “chune” in to see where your symptoms and health signs are at.

We like the tank analogy. Our health is like filling up a tank of fuel. Some people’s tanks are more full than others and we have different stressors in life that decrease our vitality & resilience as humans such as stress, illness, disease and much more. Therefore when it comes to vitamin infusions, if your tank levels are low, you might need more drips at a more frequent rate than some else who’s tank is more full than yours. It is a very individualized approach and this is why it is great to go off how you are feeling. When you start noticing you are losing resiliency and vitality, it might be time for another drip.

We can also get specific treatment plans drawn for you by the team at Iv League where a drip protocol will be tailored to your health needs.

Side effects from getting a drip are very rare. On occasion, you may experience redness, itchiness, puffiness or infection at the site of injection. Please listen to your nurse when she goes over your aftercare instructions to avoid any kind of further risk of infection. You will also receive your after car instructions via email after your first drip.

Please email austin@glvitalitydrips.com.au if you have any concerns.

If you experience dangerously low blood pressure and any kind of anaphylaxis after your nurse has left, please report directly to your closest Emergency Room or call 000.

Patients usually feel the effects of the drips instantly & hydration, usually being the first noticeable effect. As the vitamins & amino acids are 90-100% absorbed into the bloodstream bypassing the GI tract, you’ll start to notice the effects over the next few days & up to 2-3 weeks after your drip.

“However, Everyone is different. As a general rule, the more deficient and unbalanced your system is, the greater and more immediate an effect you will feel. Just because you do not feel an immediate difference, doesn’t mean the therapy is not beneficial. IV therapies are the clinical gold standard in “flushing” out the body of unwanted toxins and helping achieve balance.” IV League Drips

Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, you may feel a slight scratch when the needle is inserted into and removed from your vein.

During some vitamin infusions, a burning sensation at the site of infusion can happen with some of the drips. This can be corrected by adjusting the rate of the flow or adjusting the mix itself.

Some infusions, especially vitamin C, can make you feel very thirsty. It is safe to drink fluids during your drip, in fact we encourage it.

Discomfort can be noted during NAD drip experiences but subsides straight after you finish.

We get our vitamins from IV League Drips in Mascot who are supplied by Baxter Compounding in Adelaide. All Vitamins and Amino Acids are TGA approved and have been through vigorous testing before making it into your veins.
