What to Expect: Your Peptide Consultation Process Explained
Understanding what’s actually involved in a peptide consultation — before you start — makes the whole process clearer and less daunting. Here’s a transparent breakdown of each step, what’s required of you, and what to prepare in advance.
The Coordination Process, Step by Step
- Enquire with our concierge — submit your enquiry details, and our partnering team will provide information regarding available consultation and coordination pathways.
- Health and wellness screening — complete a confidential pre-consultation questionnaire with our partnering team, which assists independent practitioners in reviewing your medical history, current circumstances, and suitability for further assessment. Blood pathology testing follows this screening, giving your practitioner a fuller health profile before any peptide-related discussion takes place. Not everyone proceeds past this stage — if a practitioner determines, based on your screening, that you’re not a suitable candidate, a consultation may not be offered at all.
- Practitioner review — where clinically appropriate, an independent, registered healthcare practitioner may discuss available pathways and determine whether any further recommendations or prescriptions are appropriate following consultation and assessment. You are under no obligation to proceed with anything after this step — the decision to move forward is entirely yours.
- Program coordination — if a prescription is issued, our concierge team prepares a monthly plan for your review and agreement. Nothing is ordered or charged until you’ve agreed to it; once your plan is agreed and payment is settled, we coordinate your order with the dispensing pharmacy.
- Compounding and pharmacy fulfilment — where prescribed, medications are compounded by licensed Australian pharmacies under applicable regulatory and quality-control obligations. Compounded medicines are not evaluated by the TGA in the same way as registered medicines; documentation, where available, can be requested from the dispensing pharmacy. This stage typically takes 2 to 2.5 weeks from order coordination through to commencement.
- Temperature-controlled delivery — where applicable, prescriptions are shipped via temperature-controlled medical courier services, with tracking provided directly to you.
Ongoing Program Requirements
Continuing beyond your first delivery isn’t automatic or open-ended. Three-monthly check-ins with your independent, registered healthcare practitioner — sometimes including further blood pathology testing — are a mandatory part of continuing the journey. This ensures your practitioner can continue monitoring your circumstances over time, rather than making a single decision at the outset and never revisiting it.
Preparing for Your Consultation
A little preparation makes your consultation more productive. Before your appointment, it’s worth having ready:
- Your main health goals or areas of interest — a clear sense of what you’re hoping to explore or understand
- A current medication list — including dosages and frequency, for both prescriptions and supplements
- Recent relevant medical history — any significant diagnoses, treatments, surgeries, or health changes
- Any recent pathology or test results you already have, if applicable
- Questions you want answered — there’s no such thing as too basic a question for this conversation
What the Screening and Review Involves
The health and wellness screening starts with a confidential questionnaire covering your medical history and current circumstances, followed by blood pathology testing. Together, these give your independent, registered healthcare practitioner a fuller picture of your health before any peptide-related discussion takes place — so the practitioner review that follows is genuinely informed, rather than starting from a conversation alone.
This screening stage is a genuine filter, not a formality. If a practitioner determines, based on your screening and pathology results, that you’re not a suitable candidate, a consultation may not proceed at all — this is a real, possible outcome, not just a theoretical one.
What happens from there is determined entirely by your practitioner’s own clinical judgement — this isn’t a fixed checklist we control, since that decision sits with them individually based on your circumstances and results.
An Honest Note on the Evidence
It’s worth being upfront: for many of the substances discussed in peptide consultations, the underlying clinical evidence varies considerably — some areas are well-studied, others remain largely preclinical or early-stage. Your practitioner will discuss what’s actually known (and not known) about any option relevant to your circumstances as part of your consultation, rather than presenting any pathway as guaranteed to work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a consultation guarantee I’ll receive a prescription?
No. Your practitioner makes an independent clinical decision based on your individual circumstances. They may determine that no prescription or treatment recommendation is appropriate for you.
Will everyone who enquires be offered a consultation?
No. Health and wellness screening (including pathology results) is a genuine filter, not a formality. If a practitioner determines you’re not a suitable candidate based on your screening, a consultation may not be offered at all — this is a real, possible outcome.
Am I obligated to proceed after my consultation?
No. You are under no obligation to proceed with anything after your consultation, regardless of the outcome. If a script is issued, you’ll be sent a monthly plan to review — nothing is ordered or charged until you’ve agreed to it.
Is this a one-off, or does it require ongoing involvement?
Continuing beyond your first delivery requires mandatory three-monthly check-ins with your practitioner, sometimes including further blood pathology testing. This isn’t optional — it’s how your practitioner continues monitoring your circumstances over time rather than making a single decision and never revisiting it.
How long does the whole process take, from prescription to delivery?
Once your plan is agreed and payment is settled, compounding and pharmacy fulfilment typically takes 2 to 2.5 weeks through to commencement, followed by temperature-controlled delivery. The time from initial enquiry to that point depends on how quickly your screening and practitioner review are completed.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No referral is required to enquire. We’d always encourage keeping your regular healthcare providers informed of anything you’re exploring, but the process itself begins with a direct enquiry.
What happens if my practitioner decides a pathway isn’t appropriate for me?
That’s a valid and genuinely possible outcome. Your practitioner will explain their reasoning, and you’re welcome to discuss general questions with our team about the process itself, though we can’t provide clinical advice.
Can I use my existing GP alongside this process?
Yes — we’d encourage it. Keeping your regular GP informed supports more joined-up care generally.
Where This Leaves You
Knowing what to expect — the real steps, the honest uncertainty, and what’s required of you — makes for a much better starting point than going in blind. If you have questions about the process itself before you enquire, our team is happy to talk you through it; clinical questions about whether something is right for you are always a matter for your independent, registered healthcare practitioner.
